FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup: Japan and USA to Face Each Other for Third Placing

Before Korea DPR enters the final showdown with hopes of a second title, and France, hoping to make it their first, Japan and USA will bring on their best offensives, to claim the third spot.

The unsuccessful side will settle for the fourth placing.

For Japan’s Young Nadeshikos and USA’s Whites & Stripes, tomorrow’s meet will be their last chance to redeem themselves, after falling short, of a chance to compete for the title.

Though both teams did not meet during the competition, they are expected to dominate each other’s attacking third tomorrow, in their push for Bronze.

With three massive wins against, Nigeria, Canada and Brazil, the Young Nadeshikos, unfortunately lost by a 1-point margin, to both France and Spain.

Now in contention for the Bronze, the Japanese are expected to utilize Yuka Momiki and Mami Ueno to up their play.

Both are also contending for the Adidas Golden Ball, with their average match score of 3.

All the more reason to be driven to score as many as they can.

Geared up to bring the flare to the field as well are the Whites and Stripes.

An American side that has gone from strength-to-strength in this world Cup, after drawing with France and Ghana, they went on and defeated Mexico and New Zealand.

In the Semifinals, Korea DPR came on full force, and by full time, USA crumbled in a 2 – 1 deficit.

Tomorrow’s opening Grand final match will see one of these two teams get their shot at redemption.
