Extension for Bio Data Forms

Intending candidates who are yet to fill in a bio data form, or form 29, from the electoral commission have until February 28 to do so.

The electoral commissioner made the decision this afternoon to extend the deadline following a mad rush at the electoral commission headquarters this afternoon.

4.06pm today was the original deadline, however it has been extended to the end of next month.

Form 29s are not to be confused with nomination forms. Form 29s are administrative forms for the Electoral Commission to use when they print campaign posters using the candidates bio data and especially when they are issuing candidate numbers.

The intending candidates at the Electoral Commission headquarters this afternoon were not only from the NCD and central provinces, but throughout the country.

While some were there to hand in their forms, others were there to hand in their friends forms, like Joseph Yawit from the Western Province.

Others, like Dianne Ambil from Enga Province was there to confirm that her name was in the system.
