Expired goods confiscated in Maprik Town

 

The Maprik Town Mayor in East Sepik Province has started an operation to remove expired goods from shops throughout the town.

Yesterday, about ten cartons of expired goods were confiscated from the selves of an Asian-run shop, these confiscated goods include sweets, sauces and canned food items.

Maprik Town Mayor Paul Dingu said, this exercise is to make sure foreign shop owners do not feed locals with rubbish.

He said, they have also learned that some Asians are operating businesses illegally, and his office will be conducting frequent checks on the legality of foreigners operating their business in town.

The town mayor added that starting next week; appropriate action will be taken on foreigners who are found to be operating illegally.
