Besta FC were looking to make it two out of two when they arrived in Port Moresby to take on Hekari, with coach Wynton Rufer playing 8 under 19 players.

While Kema Jack made a return off the bench to score in the final minute of play to continue Hekari’s unbeaten run in the National Soccer League.

 

In the lead up to the 2015 Games, EMTV has taken on the role of promoting our sporting heroes and national representatives through all the codes PNG will be competing in, come next year.

 

The OFC Champions League, also known as the O-League, is the premier football competition in Oceania. It is organized by the OFC, Oceania's football governing body. It has been organized since 2007 under the current format, following its predecessor, the Oceania Club Championship.

 

Five O-League titles have been won by teams from New Zealand and one was won by a team from another country, Papua New Guinea champion Hekari United, who won the competition in the 2009-2010 season by defeating New Zealand team Waitkere United and also becoming the first Pacific team to have won it

 

Hekari United will be among eleven  other clubs in the Oceania Region who will all meet in the one week Champions League in Fiji starting next month.

 

EMTV viewers will be able to watch matches from 1.30pm in the afternoon starting Monday, April 7th. right through till Tuesday April 15th. All matches will be covered live.

 

And soccer will not be the only sport that the company will broadcast.

 

The Indian Premier League 2014 Cricket T20 Tournament will commence  in 8th April – 30th May 2014 and that too will be broadcast on EMTV.
