Eda Ranu & Water PNG’sign MOU

Water service providers Eda Ranu and Water PNG have come to an agreement in improving and extending services to the people of Central Province.

This afternoon, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the two entities at the IPBC boardroom in Port Moresby.

The signing is history in the making as it is the first time the two organisations will work together in providing water.

Since the establishment of Eda Ranu and Water PNG, the two entities have never worked together in partnership but have been consistent in providing the services of water supply and sewerage to people of the nation.

By law, Eda Ranu operates only within the limits of NCD. However, the MOU signing will now see Eda Ranu’s jurisdiction extended beyond the boundaries of NCD and into Central Province.

Mr Kumarasiri was pleased to see the two companies coming together to serve the people.

Eda Ranu’s Chairlady, Mary Karo, said a second MOU will be signed to extend the current water pipeline for projects in a number of villages.

Speaking on behalf of Water PNG, Board Chairman William, Sweet welcomed the initiative as the main outcome is accessibility to a clean fresh water supply for the people.

The two parties then signed the MOU, witnessed by Mr Kumarasiri as IPBC Managing Director.
