Digicel Cup Preview

Another blazing round of Digicel Cup matches tomorrow, seeing North West pool leaders Hela Wigmen take on the defending premiers, Port Moresby Vipers.

Goroka Lahanis sail down the Highlands Highway to meet the Tigers in the East pool of the competition.

Lahanis will miss the services of Wesley Mohokule and Nicko Ubile, as they serve their suspension for shoulder charging and bringing the last weekend’s match against Mioks into disrepute.

The Lae Snax Tigers remain unbeaten after defeating PRK Prima Gulf Isapeas in round 5 of the East pool played last weekend at the Lae Rugby League Ground.

A Tepen-coached side has meant business since day one.  A 22-18 win against Mioks in round 2 put them on a verge of success as they went on bagging 2 free – bye points in round 3.

The team will meet the Goroka Lahanis who are currently in the fourth spot of the East pool ladder.

The Isapeas are yet to register points for this season, and will have to fully utilize their imports against Gurias in Kalabond Oval, Kokopo tomorrow.

The Gurias will miss the services of Mathew Puke, who is on one week suspension of for dangerous contact. They’ll be firing up on their graveyard after on bye last weekend and payback a 14-6 loss to Tigers in the round 3 matches.

Third placed Mendi Muruks in North West pool will be ready to take on Mt Hagen Eagles who were a point victory against Lions last weekend.
