Daru Rugby League

Daru Rugby League Fans are now able to watch the footy on the weekends as the code has made a comeback onto the main oval of Daru town.

Through the affiliation of PNG Rugby League with Daru, 9 teams were able to qualify to take part in the competitions. With so many rugby fans and lots of raw talent, the numbers of teams are expected to increase in future.

 

A well-behaved crowd of Rugby League enthusiasts in flocked the town’s main field, to watch their teams in action. Daru Rugby league, after a 15 years break, has finally made a comeback into the field.

 

Nine teams around Daru in the Western province’s South Fly district, registered to play in the league after its affiliation with PNG Rugby League.

 

Daru Rugby League Association says that rugby is about to get a new facelift as teams will be increased over time, and is glad that PNG rugby has made an impact on Daru rugby league.

 

The association says team numbers will escalate when rugby facilities get fixed as time goes by. All jerseys used by each individual teams were bought by the Governor of Western Province.
