Many families today gathered at their churches, homes and communities to commemorate the birth of Jesus.
Christmas for many is a time to be with loved ones, and for the Iorio and Homara Habaka family, it was all about teaching their young ones about the meaning of Christmas.
About 20 minutes outside of Port Moresby is Bekobeko village, a small community. Like most families, they gathered today on Christmas for a meal together.
However, for this family, it was more about teaching their kids about the meaning of Christmas.
Anna explained that every Christmas they used to have similar family gatherings but this year, it is important for the family to have the kids understand the true meaning of Christmas.
After the play, the family exchanged gifts with each other before their meal.
