It is a pleasure to be here with you as we celebrate 51 years of Papua New Guinea’s Independence. This is an important occasion for us to reflect on where we have come from, what we have achieved together, and most importantly, the role Telikom will continue to play in building the future of our country.
Celebrating Our Legacy
Telikom has been part of Papua New Guinea’s story for generations.
From our beginnings as the Post and Telecommunications Corporation, through the development of mobile services, the merger of Telikom and Bmobile, and the expansion of our networks and digital services, we have continued to evolve alongside the country we serve.
Our journey has always been about keeping Papua New Guineans connected. But today, connectivity means much more than making a phone call or accessing the internet. It means creating opportunities, enabling businesses, supporting communities and helping PNG participate in the digital economy.
Connecting More Papua New Guineans
One of our key priorities is improving connectivity and bridging the digital divide by strengthening our infrastructure and expanding reliable access to underserved communities. This is about more than technology. It is about creating greater access to education, healthcare, business opportunities and essential services, and enabling more Papua New Guineans to participate in the digital economy.
Building the Digital Papua New Guinea
Telikom is also evolving beyond traditional telecommunications to support Papua New Guinea’s wider digital transformation. Through our investments in digital infrastructure, emerging technologies and strategic partnerships, we are strengthening the country’s digital capabilities and creating opportunities for businesses, government and communities.

Many of you work behind the scenes, but your contribution is felt across the country every day. As we transform Telikom, we must continue to transform ourselves. We need to embrace innovation, take ownership, work together and remain focused on delivering better outcomes for our customers and for Papua New Guinea.

As we look ahead, our focus is on strengthening our network, investing in digital capabilities, improving customer experience and responding to the changing needs of Papua New Guineans.
