Cairns Business Delegation Visit PNG

A delegation of businesses from the Cairns Chamber of Commerce, arrived in the country yesterday.

The team, made up of a variety of small to medium enterprises, is in Port Moresby to market their services as well as promote investor confidence, between Cairns and Port Moresby.

The delegation from Cairns were all smiles as they arrived at SP Brewery’s Brew Kettle for a networking cocktail yesterday evening, with their counterparts here, members of the Port Moresby Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

The delegation, led by CEO for the Cairns Chamber of Commerce, Deb Hancock, are in the country to market their services to interested businesses, as well as bridge the gap between the two countries, making it easier for investment opportunities.

The visit also signals the necessity for the proposed North Australia-PNG trading zone that was discussed at the Australia Papua New Guinea Business Forum.

The zone could ease the movement of people and goods across the countries’ common border, further facilitating investment opportunities between both countries.
