Business PNG – Episode13, 2014

In This Episode:

While the thought of PNG having its own Silicon Valley may be still be a dream for some, we might not be actually that far off. Funded by the European Union, PIPSO has carried out a Clusters Initiative Project, to set to up a clusters initiative in PNG's ICT sector. A cluster that might actually bloom into the beginning of PNG's very own Silicon Valley.

Also on the show, we talk to New Zealand's Minister of Foreign Affairs Murray McCully, who accompanied a trade delegation from New Zealand to PNG. New Zealand has been a longtime development partner in PNG.

An ongoing project is the community development project which is currently an ongoing project in Bougainville. Talks are also underway to have direct flight from New Zealand to Papua New Guinea.

But first, we take a look at the rising fuel prices. Fuel prices in the country has been continually rising. This month, it has been readjusted to K4.11, a rise of K0.11 from last month. Leanne Jorari with the report.
