Business PNG – Episode 27, 2014

In this week’s episode of Business PNG, we talk about the high rental costs in Port Moresby.

The influx of people moving into towns and cities over the years has increased, thus, creating a massive demand for residential housing within the market. However, finding affordable accommodation is a serious issue that many have to contend with.

There is a shortage of properties in the lower end of the market while the number of properties within the top half are numerous but exceed most average Papua New Guineans budget.

Also on this episode, under a new marketing arrangement, State Owned Enterprise Bemobile will now be known as Bemobile Vodafone. The SOE will benefit from access to the international telecommunication company under the non-equity agreement and thus will be for marking and branding purposes for a lifespan of 10 years.
