Bougainvilleans have applauded the Prime Minister’s historical visit to the autonomous region.

The visit was officially closed, with the burial of the bows and arrows that were used by the Bougainville President Chief Dr John Momis and Prime Minister Peter O’Neill, during the reconciliation ceremony in Buka.

The reconciliation was held when the Prime Minister arrived in Buka on January 27 this year.

The breaking of bows and arrives, signified a unified government of the National and Autonomous Bougainville Government’s.

Mr O’Neill said the National Government is prepared to redevelop infrastructures.

North Bougainville Chairman of Elders head, Romeo Tohiana said, the goodwill visit brought peace, reconciliation and unity among Bougainvilleans and the leaders.
