New Britain Palm Oil is supplying electricity from biogas to the people of Kimbe through a partnership with PNG Power.
Biogas typically refers to a mixture of different gases produced by the breakdown of organic matter, in this case methane is produced by the palm oil mill waste.
At present, NBPOL supplies 1 megawatt of electricity to the PNG Power grid, from their Mosa and Kombango biogas sites.
This offers a clean green and sustainable source of energy which is ideal for the environment and future generations.
