Ben Tirang Rising AFL Star

Ben Tirang is a rising AFL star. He started playing AFL at an early age, and wouldn’t give up easily. He came through the Coca-Cola Talent pathway.

Although hailing originally from the East New Britain Province, Ben Tirang was brought up in Mt. Hagen, Western Highlands Province. 

 

His AFL career began through the Coca Cola Talent Pathway in 2010.

 

He walked his way through the school boys program, determined and committed to pursue his ambitions in AFL. 

 

Tirang is now 17, but already it can be seen the potential he possess to prosper in this sporting code. 

 

After graduating in grade 10, he got picked up by the AFL Academy Program.

 

While attending the program, he continued his study at Della Salle Secondary in Port Moresby. He completed his grade 12 in 2013 at Jubilee Secondary School.

 

Tirang is confident and passionate about the sport itself. He now acts as a role model to upcoming youngsters and raw talents who are willing to take up the sport. 

 

Tirang supports the idea of the AFL PNG Talent Development Program, including the recently-launched Niukick Program.

 

He says he has come through such programs and finds it amusing, yet enriching the kids to standup and standout in their walks of life.
