Central Province: Total Liquor Ban For Easter Weekend

The Central Provincial Government has also imposed a liquor ban.

The provincial government and Central Police Command urged the people and those that will travel to and from the province to have a peaceful and crime-free long Easter weekend.

Provincial Administrator, Mr. Gei Raga in his Easter message announced that a total liquor ban starts today and ends on Monday the 21st of April.

Mr. Raga said Easter is about family and friends and enjoying our villages, enjoying our relationships and enjoying the simple things in life.

“As Central Province people we need to get together, we need to think about what we have done and what we need to do to improve ourselves, challenge ourselves to be better people,” said Mr. Raga.

He said any liquor outlets found selling liquor during this period will be dealt with under the provisions of the liquor control Act.

The ban is to ensure a quiet and peaceful Easter holiday in Central Province.

The Provincial Liquor inspectors led by the Manager for Liquor, Gima Wuri, will be out in full force with Central Police Command to enforce ban in the province.
