AFL PNG will be visiting schools on Monday to roll out the Niukick program.
The program was developed to promote high footy participation amongst children.
The children were introduced on what to expect in the program today at the Colts ground in Port Moresby.
Enthusiastic youngsters from the Coca Cola Academy, including the emerging PNG Mosquitoes, AFL Management and experienced players, turned up early this morning at the Colts ground for the launching of the Niukick program.
The program aims at creating a talent pathway and involves keen children who have ambitions to build a career in football.
They were thrilled to learn basic skills from the experienced footy players, who are the big names in their clubs, who took time out to help the younger ones.
The kids were taught ball drills, strength and endurance, physical fitness, in a rotational form.
A total of 12 schools in NCD will be visited by AFL PNG Development Officers to start off the program.
Schools were grouped in four areas, making it easier for the program to roll out effectively.
Also present at the launching were the representatives from the stakeholders in the advocacy program including PNG Assembly of Disabled Persons, Cancer Foundation and NCDC Youth Section.
