Genia’s Man Of Match Not Convincing Coach

Queensland Reds fans finally got the chance to celebrate their first win in weeks.

PNG Rugby Union icon, Will Genia, earned his 100th cap topped off with an impressive man of the match performance, which unfortunately, did not impress Wallabies Coach, Ewen Mackenzie.

After 7 straight losses, the Queensland Reds fought hard for a well-earned win against the Otago Highlanders.

This wasn’t just a momentous occasion for the Reds, but for Will Genia who played his 100th game with his best performance yet.

Given the teams most recent form, the Reds finally gave fans a reason to celebrate. It was all smiles and tears in the dressing rooms, as teammate and halves partner, Quade Cooper, honoured Genia.

Genia is amongst the 32-man squad headed into Wallabies Camp this week, and unfortunately did not make the final cut to face France this weekend at the Suncorp Stadium.

His man of the match performance wasn’t convincing enough for coach, Ewen Mackenzie.
