BSP Presented K80, 000 To PNG Swimmers

Bank South Pacific continues to support Swimming in Papua New Guinea.

Today, BSP presented a cheque of K80, 000, to PNG Swimming Incorporation, an association set up to promote swimming and training development, and to help athletes in the country.

As the 2015 Pacific Games nears, most of the funds will be used on training.

Official sponsor of the 2015 Pacific Games, Bank South Pacific, visited the Boroko Amateur Swimming Club at Ela Murray International School.

Gathered at the pool were swimmers, Coaches and families, including President and Vice president of Swimming PNG, Elizabeth Wells.

From kids to adults, swimmers gathered for a photo shoot with their coaches.  Also in the crowd, was PNG’s Number swimming sensation, Ryan Pini, who thanked BSP for their generosity, and spoke words of encouragement to our up and coming swimmers.

Straight after the shoot, a cheque of K80, 000, was handed over to President, Liz Wells, Vice President Bruce Mead, and PNG’s swim engine, Ryan Pini.

To the kid’s surprise, Tura the Kokomo, mascot of the 2015 SP Games, flew in. Tura cuddled and shook hands with the kids.

This donation will go into Swimming PNG, and will cater for the needs of our swimmers, and other related expenses.
