More than 500 residents in Port Moresby are expected to receive free medical check up at Sir John Guise Stadium on Sunday 27 July 2025, from the Filipino Association of Papua New Guinea in partnership with NCDPHA and NCDC.
Filipino Association of Papua New Guinea President Jonathan Piasaba said, this medical outreach program symbolizes compassion, partnership, and a shared commitment to the wellbeing of the people.
“It is also part of our celebration of the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the Philippines and PNG,” he said.
He explained that the check-up will include medical consultations, treatments, HIV awareness and other services, particularly to those in need and with limited access to health care.
NCD Governor Powes Parkop welcomed the initiative and pledged to provide necessary support including security on that day.
“I welcome this initiative and hope that it becomes an annual event as this is a very important need for our people in the city,” Parkop said.
FAPNG Vice President Arne Alfajardo outlined the program for the day stating that, they will start at 9 am and finish at 3 pm.
“We will allow the maximum number of patients to be checked without exhausting our medical doctors,” he said.
NCDPHA Chief Executive Officer Dr. Robin Oge has expressed his gratitude to the team and pledged their full support towards the team.
“These are events where we can diagnose, heart disease, life style disease, and provide health awareness. We will give our full support,” Dr. Oge said.
It is noted that the program will also encourage people to have regular check up to know their health status.
