Chuave District in the Chimbu Province is on the verge of building a limestone project that will have the capacity to produce 2 000 tons of cement a day.

Treasury Minister Don Polye and local member Wera Mori visited the district recently to officiate feasibility studies for the project.

The limestone project is said to improve and transform lives of Chuave people and Simbu as a whole.

Treasury Minister Don Polye addressed thousands at Chuave Station saying, the project will see the people and province reap millions by producing cement and gravel.

He said the funds for the project will be released without delay.

Local member Wera Mori said K28 million has been set aside to do feasibility studies. And once that is done, total costing of the project including infrastructure, will be known.

Mr Mori and Mr Polye also visited Yaweh Moses Secondary School and committed K5 million for a major renovation and upgrade of school facilities.

This includes 4 teacher houses, 6 new dormitories, a new mess and 14 classrooms.

This is the first ever infrastructural development for the school which has produced high academic results over the past 20 years.
