In this episode:

THE quiet town of Kimbe, in west New Britain played host to the prestigious Pacific MMI Kimbe 7s tournament last month.

The tournament attracted teams from Port Moresby, Lae, Madang, the Aroma Coast and the Autonomous Region of Bougainville.

Home Favourites, the Pacific MMI Rebels, came out winners in the cup final.

Sailosi Druma, on behalf of the PNGRFU, commended all women and school girls that took part in the first Women’s National Provincial Championships that was held in Port Moresby.

The John Larry-coached Spartans took out the open women’s title while young guns, the Black Orchids, took out the U-15s and U-19s, thrashing their opponents to finish at the top as well.

Coach, Kelly Havara is optimistic in bringing an opens women’s team, come next year’s WNPC.

And for our athlete’s profile, we congratulate our very own Sharon Kwarula, who recorded a time of 8.01 seconds to take out the 55m hurdles in the Lone Star Indoor Conference Championships.

We also caught up former U-17 Binatang, Ben Tirang. The young lad from East New Britain is currently undertaking an AFL scholarship program in Australia. He is excited about the development, Nuikick, program that AFL PNG is conducting.

He now sets his sights on being a PNG Mosquito.

Our weekend HOT SPOT for this weekend will be at the Monier Rugby Park in Port Moresby.

The Kramer Ausenco Brothers are commemorating their 40 years in rugby with the staging of a 7s tournament.
