Pukpuk Sevens rugby trio Billy Torea, Dondon Kais and Hubert Tseraha have been selected to play for a full season with the Uni-Norths in Canberra.
The sevens rugby team travelled to Canberra over a month ago as part of an 8 week strength and conditioning training program.
Pukpuk’s trio, Billy Torea, Dondon Kais and Hubert Tseraha had a smashing first game for the Uni North’s in Canberra over the weekend. Uni North Owl’s is a club participating in the local Premier grade competition.
Accelerating superstar Hubert Tseraha, would have left the crowd speechless given his mobile built, the incredibly fast winger put strength and agility to the test, stopping one too many side line getaways against the opposition.
Pukpuk’s big unit’s Dondon Kais and Billy Torea who played in the midfield, forced a few offloads, and showed their potential and talent on a whole new level. With the dynamic trio exposed to such an elite premier competition, they will be crucial to the success of the national sevens team.
The team is expected to return to Port Moresby next month before heading off to Glasgow, for the Commonwealth Games.
