INJURY OPENS OPPORTUNITY FOR PLAYERS TO DEBUT FOR KUMULS

Papua New Guinea Hunters inform fullback along with an international Kumuls prospect has been named in the PNG Kumuls bench as Jason Demetriou shuffle players ahead of their match against England.

New Castle Knights hard man closes in on making their debut Jackob Taulani along with Sanny Wabo are close to make their Kumuls debut alongside as injury hit Kumuls camp.

Kumuls coach Jason Demetriou said they have a couple of players injured in their last match at home in Port Moresby following their match against Samoa.

“Few changes to the team, I’m really keen to give players who had not had game yet some opportunities,” Demetriou said.

“Josh Feledy come in the center as Zac Laybutt pushed back into fullback to give us some size at the back field which give Sanny the opportunity to get onto the bench as well.”

He said Khaiya Waembi and Jack De Berlin will be missing the match against England due to injury as the PNG side focuses on recovery ahead of their final pool match.

Injury scare has also seen Demetriou leaving Morea Morea out of the team given his recent recovery from hamstring injury that he couped playing for London Broncos.

He said the final pool match is an important one for them.

“It’s an important game, it’s a world cup game and we need to get the players that are fit and available out there and have a crack at it.”
