TUBUSEREIA JUNIOR HIGH SCHOOL GETS NEW MULTIPURPOSE HALL

BSP PNG | BSP Financial Group Limited has officially handed over its eighth project under the 50for50 GivimBek Initiative — a brand-new multipurpose hall for Tubusereia Junior High School in Central Province.
The project was identified and nominated by BSP staff from Tubusereia Village and co-funded through BSP’s Community Project and 50for50 GivimBek Initiative, funding from the Deputy Opposition Leader and Member for Hiri-Koiari, Hon. Keith Iduhu, and the school board.
The hall provides students with a safe, covered space for assemblies, eliminating the need to stand in the hot sun or rain. It will also serve as a venue for parent and community gatherings.
Speaking at the handover, BSP Board Chairman Robert Bradshaw said investing in education had been rewarding for the bank.
“Through BSP’s Community Project and 50for50 GivimBek Initiative, BSP has built new classrooms, supplied desks, and provided laptops and computers to various schools throughout the country.
“These projects are only successful with community support and by building valuable relationships with local governments, community leaders and businesses,” he said.
Mr Bradshaw said the bank’s community investment had reached some of the most rural areas in Papua New Guinea, adding that BSP remained the only bank investing millions of kina annually in communities.
He added that this year, BSP’s Community Projects and 50for50 GivimBek Initiative had supported new infrastructure, contributed to health, education, sports and community wellbeing, and invested in water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH) projects.
These included bore water projects and the supply of water tanks in response to El Niño.
“These meaningful contributions to communities in need demonstrate how the power of community and business partnerships can improve lives and create lasting change,” Mr Bradshaw said.
He thanked the school and the people of Tubusereia Village for welcoming BSP into the community to complete the project and urged students and villagers to take good care of the new building.
The Tubusereia project follows seven other 50for50 GivimBek projects delivered in Western Highlands, Eastern Highlands, Hela, Simbu, Western Province, the National Capital District and the Autonomous Region of Bougainville as part of BSP’s 50th-anniversary community commitment.
