EMTV LAUNCHES iGOEMTV MOBILE APPLICATION: A STEP INTO THE DIGITAL FUTURE
Media Niugini Limited (EMTV) has launched its new application called the iGoEMTV as it takes a step into the future to make the television channel accessible on the go.
The user-friendly app is now available for download on the Google Play Store for Android users and the Apple App Store for iOS users.

The launching was done by Telikom Group Chairman Cedric Rondoke in the presence of Telikom Limited Group Chief Executive Officer Amos Tepi and EMTV’s Chief Executive Officer Silas Matoli.
Rondoke said this marks the step into the future for better viewership and client experience.
He said EMTV was there yesterday, today and will be there for the people of Papua New Guinea in the future.
“EMTV was here forty years ago. We have been there, we are still here and we will be here in the future,” Rondoke said.
“It a privilege to see this at a time where digital transformation is re-shaping economies, government, businesses and societies across the globe. Digitalization is no more optional. They are global priority that are diving sustainable development, economic growth and improved public service delivery.”
In line with the government’s move to have digitalization at the centre of the nation’s development, he said this is timely.
“In PNG this vision is equally important. The government has placed digital transformation at the centre of its development agenda through the medium-term development plan with the strong focus on expanding digital infrastructure and ensuring every Papua New Guinean has access to reliable communication and information. As a State-Owned Enterprise, Telikom has a responsibility in supporting this national aspiration.”
Telikom Group CEO, Amos Tepi also added that this is a step forward for the Group.
“Today, we are witnessing a major shift with emerging technology. The launch of iGOEMTV will help EMTV reach more viewers and officially tap into the digital age. For the Telikom Group, this is a massive step forward that aligns with the government’s push for every department and SOE to modernize.”
Moreover, EMTV CEO Silas Matoli said this is for the people.
“This is a more than a launch of a mobile application it is a step towards transforming EMTV as the leading broadcasting company,” Matoli said.
“Clients always ask us, ‘How many viewers do you have on your platform?’ and this is sometimes the hardest question to answer. This morning brings good news to them because now we are putting television on their phones, running twenty-four seven.”
The iGOEMTV application has all the EMTV programs, news and sports, the live streaming of national events like the National Parliament sessions and the usual 6pm news.
The application brings information to the viewers across the length and breath of Papua New Guinea starting today and into the future.
Matoli also thanked partners, stakeholders and the viewers for their continued support.
