A woman’s body was found this morning at Kasam Pass by Kasam Pass Police unit in Eastern Highlands province.
A police unit comprising members of the Goroka Task Force, Kainantu Police, and Yonki-based officers providing security along the MCC Project attended to the scene.
According to police on the ground, the woman, believed to be between 20 and 25 years old, was killed, dragged along the highway, and dumped at the roadside between Young Creek and Kassam Pass in the early hours of this morning.
Police said the victim is believed to be from Markham in Morobe Province.
The body was taken to the Yonki Health Centre and is yet to be identified by family members.
Moreover, the Police from the Criminal Investigation Division (CID) in Yonki are currently investigating the murder.
