ONLY AFFILIATED ASSOCIATIONS TO ATTEND TOUCH CHAMPIONSHIP IN ALOTAU
Touch Federation of Papua New Guinea (TFPNG) is urging all its affiliates to uphold good governance and transparency.
This has seen the federation calling on all touch bodies that are not affiliated to the federation to refrain from using the federations name in running competitions or other businesses.
The federation in a statement said affiliations have closed since June 30, 2025 and only affiliated associations can run sanctioned tournaments and activities.
This is inline with the federation’s five-year development plan that emphasizes good governance and transparency and the new TFPNG executives under President Steven Kuimp is standing by it.
The federation also stated that only 13 affiliated associations will be eligible to take part in the National championship in Alotau on December 10th-14th, 2025.
Kuimp with regards to the participation of affiliations at the national touch championship clearly stated that there will be no other affiliates apart from the 13 affiliated associations.
Non-affiliated associations have till next year to get their administration in order and affiliate at the earliest to avoid missing out on sanctioned TFPNG events.
He said one of the known associations that has not renewed its affiliation this year is Huon Touch in Lae.
“Huon Touch is not currently affiliated to TFPNG and acquittal for hosting the National Touch Championship in 2024 has not been revealed,” Kuimp said.
“This has been raised at TFPNG executives’ level and a response will be provided through Huon Touch accordingly,” said TFPNG president.
