HUNTERS CENTRE, EILJA ROLTINGA RULED OUT OF SEASON WITH BROKEN LEG

The Papua New Guinea Hunters has confirmed that Centre Elijah Roltinga has suffered a broken leg injury and will be sidelined for the remainder of the 2025 Hostplus season.
In an unfortunate incident during the warm-up of their Round 16 clash against the Mendi Blackhawks last weekend, Roltinga sustained the injury prior to kick-off. He was immediately taken to Pacific International Hospital (PIH) and was admitted overnight. The centre successfully underwent surgery the following day and is now recovering.
“We are pleased to report that the procedure was successful, and Elijah is now in recovery. He will soon begin a comprehensive rehabilitation program and will receive the highest standard of medical care available in Papua New Guinea to support his return to the field,” Hunters highlighted in a press statement.
The team also stressed that Roltinga is a valuable part of the team and he will be missed as they send their thoughts to the player and his family during this challenging time.
The player made his debut for the Hunters last year and played 24 season games, scoring 17 tries. This season alone he made nine appearances and scored eight tries.
