NEW BOOK “FINDING YOUR PLACE IN THIS WORLD” LAUNCH

By Mimi Pio Popondetta

A new book titled Finding Your Place in this World was recently launched by a young female author, Mirriam Evajoyce Arenadi in Popondetta.

Arenadi, who comes from a mixed parentage of Oro and Milne Bay, shared that it took her five years to complete the book.

She got inspiration from various youth activities she attended and the observation of life around her to write.

“I gathered information and inspiration from different youth events I attended and by assessing life around me,” Arenadi said.

The book features nine chapters, written in simple and clear English, readable for readers ranging from primary school aged students to adults.

“At the end of each chapter, is an illustration that is relatable to our context or way of life, with activities for practical purposes,” she explained.

Arenadi spoke about the challenges she faced whilst writing her first book, particularly in expanding her English vocabulary and learning how to use words correctly in different contexts.

“The most challenging part was learning new English words and figuring out how to use them appropriately in sentences,” she admitted.

“I hope this book helps students and readers realize the importance literacy and its potential impact on their lives.”

Finding Your Place in this World was published by Marapa Publication in Port Moresby, and is available for purchase at K100 per copy.

During the launch, Popondetta District made the first purchase of 120 copies, which will be distributed to 120 parliamentarians later on.

Arenadi’s book aims to inspire readers to discover their true potential and find their place in this world.
