Ballot Box Inspection

Electoral Commission opened a container containing 17 ballot boxes of the Judicial recount of Kandep open seat.

The container was opened in the presence of scrutineers and lawyers of both parties who were there to inspect the 17 ballot boxes.

The recount is scheduled to start this Saturday in Kundiawa with primary votes and will take 12 days before a winner is declared.

Induction for counting officials will begin tomorrow.

Kandep Open seat Returning Officer, Tom Sine, has encouraged supporters of both candidates to respect the process.

Meanwhile, the Eastern End Commander, ACP Joseph Tondop, warned supporters to behave, or police will use force to control the recount.
