Prouds Aims for Quality Goods

Just nine months after the opening of its first shop at Waigani Central; PROUDS opened its second domestic store in Port Moresby, with signals demonstrating an even higher demand for more quality brands and products for a targeted audience.

Amidst an ever increasing amount of counterfeits and fake items being circulated throughout the country; a pioneer duty- free and retail travel operator under the CPL Group.

Excited about extending its footprint in PNG, the new store features world renowned brands and products; together with other brands popular in the country and the greater Pacific Island countries with Hardware Haus CEO – Navid Raju saying that this represents a shift as consumers are now focused on buying exclusive and branded products

“so the response to our Waigani shop has been excellent and we are expecting the same in vision city.”

Demonstrating confidence in the economy, the expansion not only creates new jobs but gives customers more options on high quality international brands at affordable prices.

Despite some cheap alternatives sold for cheaper prices, many Papua New Guineans still prefer quality products.

“we are targeting the middle to upper income people, there is a demand for these times of products in Papua New Guinea to meet that market, and unfortunately until now it was not made available”

The long driven issue of counterfeit items and products making it into PNG markets undetected has raised serious concerns for many locally.

An interview late last year with CPL Group Managing Director; Mahesh Patel told EMTV News that CPL Group has been in talks with relevant authorities over time to stop the import of counterfeit and fake items into PNG.

Fighting Counterfeit Products in PNG

Quality is costly. But not if the investment is worth it. The opening of the new store has been part of the expansion of Prouds PNG to be more accessible and affordable to all Papua New Guineans.

The new store is located on Level One of the Vision City Mega Mall dubbed to the largest and most successful development of its type in PNG.
