Abel meets with visiting ADB Board Members and Country Director

Deputy Prime Minister and Treasurer, Charles Abel, today (11/02/19) met with the visiting ADB Board members and Country Director in PNG, David Hill.  Mr Abel said the government’s relationship with ADB has moved from strength to strength-particularly in the areas of budget support and health.

He also thanked ADB for its Sustainable Highlands Highway Investment Program.

Six members of the Asian Development Bank’s Board of Directors are in the country from the 11 to the 15th of February.

 They comprised of Executive Directors representing countries in Europe, Asia, North America and the Oceania region. They will interact with project beneficiaries, meet with private sector representatives and staff at ADB’s Papua New Guinea Resident Mission.

During the visit, the Board will share with government and other stakeholders, details of ADB’s emerging Strategy 2030 and other development programs.
