Port Moresby Racquets Club will be hosting the Port Moresby Open for Squash and Tennis in June, with more attendance expected compared to previous years.
Although most of the Port Moresby Tennis members are away at an international tournament in France, the Squash fraternity is expecting a large contingent from Cairns and Darwin this year.
It will be an exciting turn out for Squash this year with over 160 participants expected to attend the POM Tennis & Squash Open 2018 set for June.
With almost K7,500 up for grabs, participants will be competing in different divisions from Juniors to Legends for participants aged 45 years and above.
Squash is also expecting a participant who will be travelling in from Germany.
With defending champions such as Madako Suari Jnr who will be returning to defend his 2017 title, there is a large pool of juniors expected on the courts for this year’s tournament.
The tournament will be used to rank players and interested players who want to take part. Players have been given until the end of this week to register for the POM Tennis and Squash Open that will be held next month, from the 15th to 17th.
