The US Geological Survey has reported another 6.0 Magnitude earthquake 111km South-west of Pogera, in Enga Province that occurred today at 2:45am UTC (12:45pm in PNG local time).
This is another string of continuous earthquakes and aftershocks occurring throughout since the early hours of Monday morning.
Communities have been advised of the dangers of earthquake aftershocks, and to take precautions when moving around.
This call was made 2 days ago after a 7.5 magnitude earthquake struck in the early hours of Monday morning affecting various highland provinces of Papua New Guinea. That day also saw another 6.5 Magnitude that struck later on in that night.
There have been continuous aftershocks triggering other disasters such as landslides and health concerns where a school has reported students vomiting and feeling dizzy as a result of the continuous earth movements.
