A 39-year-old man has been arrested in relation to the bizarre sexual abuse and torture of his sister-in-law.
The woman who suffered the abuse over several months finally broke her silence today and reported the matter to the Lae Sexual Offences Squad.
In December, the man threatened and forcefully pierced the woman’s genitals with a sharpened nail and put a small padlock on the bent nail to prevent its removal.
The case has shocked both police and community members who helped apprehend the suspect.
