IBSU Turned Down in Selection Process

By Staycey Yalo, EMTV News, Port Moresby

Institute of Business Studies (IBS) Group has raised concerns about not being a part of the recent Higher Education Selection process for 2018 academic year.

IBSU confirms that about 500 students have applied to study at the institution but IBSU and IBS were left out on the day of the selection.

Vice Chancellor of IBS University, Edward Silva, described the situation as sad. Mr Silva says as part of their noble duty as an institution to educate Papua New Guineans, it is disappointing that IBSU had not been involved in the selection process.

IBSU confirmed that they have released 500 students’ acceptance offers. The numbers, however, are expected to increase due to the very high number of enquiry every day and that most have already been issued with application forms to complete for admissions.

According to DHERST Secretary, Father Jan Czuba, IBSU is not a registered institution.

Although IBS Group reiterated that they have met the required standard, DHERST stand still remains that IBSU is not registered as per their list of registered Higher Institutions listed on their website as of 7th December.
