PNG Women’s Business Resource Centre Celebrates First Anniversary

The Women’s Business Resource Centre, is a place that offers this environment for budding entrepreneurs to innovate, network and empower themselves, and ultimately get their business ideas off the ground, and succeed.

Whilst the number of female entrepreneurs has increase in recent years, there is still more to do to create an environment where women can openly share their business ideas.

The WBRC celebrated its first year of operations yesterday.

Through support from the United States and Australian governments, this facility has come a long way since its inception in 2016.

The Business Professional Women’s Club has been at the forefront of the push to have more women venture into business.

And with the first anniversary of this Resource Centre, BPW also used the opportunity to highlight its White Paper, which according to BPW Vice President, Valentina Kaman, is being viewed as a practical action plan in encouraging more women to become entrepreneurs.

In a country as complex as Papua New Guinea, where traditional practices are still held in high regard, there are still challenges in getting more women who have great business ideas to take the leap in utilising such a facility to better their chances of success – but there is still hope.
