NRL Greats, Hindmarsh, Fletcher Wrap 6-day Kokoda Walk

NRL greats Nathan Hindmarsh and Brian Fletcher recently embarked on a personal challenge to walk the famous Kokoda track in Papua New Guinea.

After going through a 6-day, 96-Km walk through the rugged terrains of the famous Owen’s Stanley ranges.

The duo made it back to Port Moresby and took a time out at the Airways hotel, EMTV caught up with the crew from Fox Sports who documented their journey.

The two former NSW hard hitters still had their stamina game on during the walk and were high spirited.

“It’s not easy. It took six days of hard work. Much harder than Rugby,” Hindmarsh recounted.

Hindmarsh played for the Paramatta Eels and Fletcher was on the Sydney Roosters team.

They were part of the Kokoda Challenge.

Tourism Promotion Authority CEO, Jerry Agus, was also in attendance last night to farewell the two players and the TV crew that documented the journey.

” We will always welcome Australians to visit this historical part of Papua New Guinea, as they are part of it too. And the Papua New Guinea Tourism Promotion authority says thank you to Nathan [Hindmarsh] and Brian [Fletcher] for taking up the Kokoda Challenge,” Mr. Agus said.
