Kokopo’s Resident Judge Passes On

The late Justice Salatiel Lenalia passed away at Port Moresby’s Pacific International Hospital (PIH) where he was receiving treatment.

His death comes after the untimely passing of fellow senior judge, the late Catherine Davani.

Chief Justice Sir Salamo Injia confirmed the death of his colleague in a statement made yesterday.

“The judiciary is deeply saddened by his untimely passing and offer our condolences to his wife Sandy Lenalia, family and friends.”

The late Justice Lenalia was serving his second term after he was appointed as a judge of the National and Supreme Court of Papua New Guinea in 2001.

Funeral arrangements are being made by the Chief Justice and the National Judicial Staff Services alongside the family of the late judge.

The late Justice Lenalia is survived by his wife Sandy and their three children.
