Busy Calendar for Cricket PNG

The second half of the Cricket PNG calendar is fully booked with international and domestic fixtures.

Cricket PNG CEO, Greg Campbell, told EMTV Sports, from next week onwards, it will get very busy down at the Amini Park, when the Hebou Shield Competition gets underway, and also the National Squads training will go full swing.

The Men’s National Team, are preparing to meet Scotland in October.

Even though, that fixture is 4 months away, the Barramundis know too well this is an opponent, that they will not take lightly, considering that Cricket is their traditional sport.

And the Women’s teams, the Lewas are right now undergoing high performance training, awaiting the ICC T/20 Women’s World Cup, due later this year or early next year.

While the U19 Garamuts also have an international fixture.

To the domestic competition, as of next Monday till the end of July, Cricket PNG will be running it’s Hebou Shield Competition.

This will be PNG’s first class Cricket competition involving both the men’s and the women’s fixtures two months of competition will see eight teams participate, five Mens and three women’s teams.
