Eastern Highlands Province has 61 Nominations so far, for the 8 Districts and Regional seat

As of 4pm today, a total of 61 candidates have submitted nominations for the 8 Districts and Regional seat.

Election Manager for Eastern Highlands, Steven Gore Kaupa, said nominations were gradually coming in. He was returning from Lufa district that had 8 nominations so far.

Goroka district had 9, including sitting MP, Bire Kimisopa, and two women candidates.

Daulo has 12 nominations, Kainantu 18, with one female candidate, while Hengonfi, Okapa and Obura – Wonenara are yet to be confirmed. 

As for the regional seat, a total of 8 nominations were submitted, with one woman candidate so far, Lillian Siwi.
