Just when the Commonwealth Games 2018 baton was launched by the Queen in England a week ago, the prospect of Australia hosting the Commonwealth Games, back-to-back is becoming more concrete by the day.
It has been revealed that Sydney has put its hands up to host the Commonwealth Games in 2022, since Durban was relieved of its hosting duties a few days before the 2018 baton was launched.
This comes after Commonwealth Games Federation (CGF) President, Louise Martin failed to get assurance from the South African President, Jacob Zuma, that his Government would provide the necessary financial support.
And right behind Sydney, and keen as well, to bid for hosting duties are Perth, Adelaide and Melbourne.
