Fr. Victor Roche welcomes the prospect of married priests in the Catholic Faith

 

There’s been mixed reactions abroad to Pope Francis’s willingness to consider ordaining older married men as priests; many, open to the idea.

A shortage of priests in isolated communities has prompted calls to end the ancient tradition of celibacy for Roman Catholic priests.

Meanwhile in Papua New Guinea, General Secretary of PNG’s Catholic Bishops Conference, Father Victor Roche, says he highly welcomes the prospect.
