Kila Kila Secondary Facelift

Kila Kila Secondary School in the Moresby South electorate has seen a facelift in the school’s infrastructure development for student learning.

NCD Governor, Powes Parkop, and Moresby South, MP Justin Tkatchenko, were present for the official opening.

The learning facilities include a school hall and 20 new classrooms.

These classrooms comprise of two buildings with six classrooms, another building with four classrooms, and two buildings containing two classrooms.

Meanwhile, the school hall was previously named Nazal Hall after an expatriate Principal who contributed significantly to the school. The hall was refurbished and renamed Tkachenko hall.

Altogether the buildings cost K2 million, co-funded under the electorate’s DSIP funds with K1 million from NCD DSIP through Governor, Powes Parkop, and the other half under Moresby South DSIP, committed by the member, Justin Tkatchenko.

Speaking during the opening ceremony Tkatchenko said these infrastructure are a reflection of continued support and commitment to improve education in the National Capital District.

He challenged students, teachers and parents to take ownership by looking after these facilities.

Governor Parkop said this is a milestone achievement in the city which complements the Government’s Vision 2050.

Parkop maintained that these facilities are a key foundation for students to prosper in education.

He urged students to make use of these facilities and strive with excellence.
