The Baisu Correctional Service jail, in Western Highlands Province, has been running out of food supplies since Friday evening.

EMTV News visited the prison today and discovered that the prisoners given one packet of biscuit for dinner last night.

This happened after the contractor who supplied food ration to the prison stopped supplying food due to non-payment of bills.

Owner of Whiski Fresh Produce, Barry Maip told EMTV News that Correctional Service Institution owes his company over K1 million.

These are for the months of December 2016, January and February of this year.

Yesterday the prison warder officers contributed at least K20 each, and bought food for the prisoners to eat.

Baisu Jail Commander, Tindi Kaugla was looking for food to buy this morning to bring back to Baisu.
