Hekari United Franchise owner, John Kapi Natto, says the treatment that his club and players have received at the hands of both the Oceania Football Confederation (OFC) and PNG Football Association is unfair, to say the least.
Kapi Natto was responding to the recent announcement by the OFC regarding his team being dropped from the 2017 OFC Champions League tournament.
Kapi Natto has claimed that, by being an outspoken critic of the current PNG football administration, he and a lot of other football-passionate people in the country are being marginalised.
Natto added that the current decision, which was made by the Oceania Football Confederation, will affect the club management and the playing staff as well.
There has also been a call for dialogue, with Kapi Natto believing that that election of OFC and PNGFA president, David Chung, has been undemocratic – without the opportunity for a fair and transparent representation of all of PNG footballing associations and member bodies.
In the meantime, Hekari will travel to Madang in the coming week to take on local franchise club, Madang FC before returning to the nations capital.
