Mt. Hagen Police New Year Operation Parade

The Mt. Hagen Police hosted its Parade today, to continue their Christmas-New Year operation.

Western Highlands Provincial Police Commander, Chief Superintendent, Martin Lakari, urged police to maintain law and order in this festive season.

The Chinese Community in the Highlands Region also donated a K20,000 cheque to Mt Hagen Police to support their operation.

At the parade, the Western Highlands PPC, Martin Lakari, praised his Police men and women for conducting a peaceful and trouble free Christmas operation.

He urged them to continue their work through to New Year.

The people of Western Highlands Province have seen a decrease in police brutality this year.

PPC Lakari urged the police during the parade to maintain their good behaviour and discipline.

He is also appealing to the public, including business houses in the Western Highlands Province, to assist police in combating crime in the city. Meanwhile, the Highlands Chinese Fuqing [Fuching] Community presented a K20,000 Cheque to the Mt. Hagen Police for their appreciation in keeping peace in the Province.

PPC Lakari said the Police are looking forward to a peaceful New Year Operation.
