Prime Minister, Peter OโNeill, said this today at the opening of the 14th PNG Mining & Petroleum Investment Conference in Sydney, Australia.
Hosted by the PNG Chamber of Mines & Petroleum, this yearโs conference has attracted over 1,100 participants.
Prime Minister OโNeill arrived at the Hilton Hotel this morning with other members of Parliament and senior government officials to attend the flagship biennial conference of the PNG Chamber of Mines & Petroleum.
The conference showcases the industry in PNG to the international finance and investment sectors.
Amidst a challenging global economic environment, Prime Minister OโNeill assured that the Government is doing what it can to maintain good governance at all levels.
President of the PNG Chamber of Mines & Petroleum, Gerea Aopi, said there has never been a more challenging time than the present. However, he said there is some hope.
With over 230 including member companies of the Chamber from 16 countries in attendance, the theme of โDelivering on Growth Opportunitiesโ is expected to raise the level of confidence to investors.
