A male youth from highlands origin, was found dead near the 9mile market outside Port Moresby this morning.
It is believed the deceased was murdered elsewhere, and dumped there last night or early this morning. The travelling public sighted the body this morning and reported the matter to police.
The public is concern as the body was found near a common area where people meet, and do daily chores such as marketing goods, and other small businesses.
Police have been alerted and are now in the area for investigation purposes.
An eye witness said, the person had bruises all over his body with a knife wound around his throat. Many believe the death is a payback killing but no one has confirmed as yet.
The body of the person is now at the Port Moresby General Hospital. Police are calling on the public at 8 and 9 mile areas, to make time available at the hospital to identify the body.
